The Australian Camp Oven Festival was
held in October 2008 and had its best
festival to date and as such was
recognised for their commitment to
continually change, grow and evolve with
the needs of the festival patrons. The
festival is a volunteer based
organisation and it’s these volunteers
who give it its unique flavour, along
with some great camp oven cooking of
course!
In 2009, the
exceptional work of organisations and
groups involved in events and festivals
from right across Queensland were
recognised as part of the Tourism
Queensland gala awards ceremony which
was held at Jupiter’s Casino at the Gold
Coast on Friday 13th November.
The Australian Camp Oven Festival was
nominated for the first time in the
Events and Festival category and was
very happy to be named as one of the
finalists in this very competitive
field. With entries from every part of
the state, the finalists’ field was as
diverse as Queensland itself, with
entries from Julia Creek to Millmerran,
the Sunshine Coast to Toowoomba and
everywhere in between.
Look out for the Australian Camp Oven
Festival on the 2nd and 3rd October
2010, it will be back bigger and better
than ever.
2010 is
already shaping up to be a colossal
event with new demonstrations;
attractions and events in place so:
